Arlington, TX, Aug 6, 2026 – Charter Software has changed how dealers get answers out of their own data. Built directly into ASPEN, the new AI Report Builder turns a plain-language question into a live report in seconds, pulled straight from the dealership's own data. This means no codes to learn, no export to babysit and no one person who has to be in the building to get an answer.
Most DMS platforms make a user hunt for the answer: dig through the module tree, find the right report by name, set the filters, click View Report, and hope it's the one you needed. ASPEN flips that. A parts manager types "parts with no sales history." An office manager types "every user who's logged in, and when." Someone in marketing types "customers with no email on file," the exact list they need before they can even start a campaign. The report comes back built, not tracked down through a report tree, and not gated behind whoever on staff knows where to look.

The AI Report Builder is built direct into ASPEN rather than as a bolt-on reporting tool, so every report pulls from the same live data the dealership already runs. Because ASPEN, Service Queue, and ASPEN Mobile all write to that same database, a report can just as easily draw on work clocked in the bay or logged from the road as anything entered at a desktop. Any report can also be saved as a template, kept private or shared with the whole dealership, so a question that comes up every month doesn't have to be typed out again.
